A missing Uber driver in California called 911 after he vanished while working, police said.
Joshua Thiede, who also drives for Lyft, was last seen the morning of Feb. 11 driving a black 2014 Nissan Altima in Los Angeles, CBS News reported.
Thiede, 29, placed a call to 911 the following day, but he was disconnected before a dispatcher answered, according to news station KCBS.
“We’re really getting concerned now,” friend Kevin Young told CBS. “It’s almost a week tomorrow that he’s been missing and there are so many pieces of the puzzle that just don’t make any sense.”
Both ride-sharing companies are reportedly cooperating with authorities investigating the Ohio native’s disappearance.
“Our concern is with Mr. Thiede’s safety and wellbeing,” Lyft said in a statement to CBS. “We have been in touch with his family and law enforcement and will continue to assist in whatever way we can.”
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call police at 213-996-1800.
