NEW YORK (AP) — A man convicted of murder in the death of a New York City runner has been sentenced to life in prison.
Chanel (shuh-NEHL’) Lewis was sentenced on Tuesday in the August 2016 death of Karina Vetrano in Queens.
On Monday, the judge denied a defense motion to set aside the guilty verdict after hearing arguments about alleged juror misconduct.
Phil Vetrano found his 30-year-old daughter’s body, strangled and sexually abused, in 2016 in a park where they often went for runs together.
