DECATUR, Ala. (AP) — An Alabama rheumatologist denies allegations that he sexually assaulted or had inappropriate contact with six female patients.
Dr. Michael Dick of Decatur told the Decatur Daily on Friday that he has never harassed or assaulted anyone, physically or sexually.
He also says a nurse was present during all of the visits, and she will testify that he did nothing wrong.
Six women filed a lawsuit against him Wednesday in Morgan County Circuit Court, using pseudonyms to protect their privacy.
In January, Dick was arrested on two counts of misdemeanor harassment based on two women’s allegations. He’s free on bail and continues to practice.
Alabama State Board of Medical Examiners General Counsel Wilson Hunter has said the agency is monitoring the situation. The agency issues and regulates medical licenses.
